At the beginning of the year I made a goal of reading at least one book a month. I used to read books all the time, but as more and more kiddos came along, my time got limited and I just don’t have a lot of brain space or time to read. But I know that books are so valuable, and I’m determined to try!

I thought it might be fun to occasionally talk about the books I’m reading. Here are some of the books I’ve read since the beginning of the year…

Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook: How to Tell Your Story in a Noisy Social World
by Gary Vanerchuck

book

This was a hands-on breakdown of how to best utilize the most popular social media platform like Instagram and Facebook. It is a few years old and social media changes so fast, but I still got some valuable info for how to use social media in my business.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear
by Elizabeth Gilbert

book

This book helped me see ideas and creativity in a different way than I had before. It is inspiring and made me want to stop making excuses and just CREATE even if things aren’t perfect.

Meaningful: The Story of Ideas That Fly
by Bernadette Jiwa

book

This book helped me think about how to market my business as it fits into my customer’s story and their needs. Her writing is engaging and easy to follow. Highly recommend.

Most of the books I’m interested in right now are related to small business and creativity. I would like to get into a good fiction book to round out my current reading list. Any suggestions??
