So I’ve often written about my love of podcasts on the blog, but I had friends who recently asked what my favorites are and since I’ve added some new ones lately, I thought I’d share them here.

I often listen to podcasts while I’m driving or painting. I typically don’t listen to them while I’m doing computer work, since it is too distracting. I have learned so much by listening! It is such a valuable free resource.

I listen to a fairly large variety of podcasts – some are just for fun and some are for learning and growing. And I use my podcast app on my iPhone to listen to them.

{Business/Creativity Podcasts}

  • Creating Disney Magic – a refreshing, old-school look at customer service and creating a quality product as well as time-management tools.
  • Build Your Tribe – I don’t listen to all of these, but I’ve learned about online marketing and using social media for business.
  • Startup Camp – I’ve enjoyed these interviews with business owners.
  • Magic Lessons – this podcast came out of the book Big Magic, which I like better than the podcast, but there is some good stuff about creativity on the podcast.
  • Creating Your Own Path – there haven’t been recent episodes, but I’ve enjoyed the past interviews with other hand-made business owners.
  • Elise Gets Crafty – one of the first podcasts I ever listened to. I’ve gotten really valuable info from these interviews with hand-made creative business owners.

{Life/Just-For-Fun Podcasts}

  • The Happy Hour with Jamie Ivey – this is probably my favorite just-for-fun podcast. Jamie interview lots of women like Jen Hatmaker and Emily from Jones Design Co. and they talk about all kinds of woman-things.
  • The Simple Show – podcast where Tsh interviews random people. It focuses on simplifying your life and minimalism.
  • Hope*ologie – Some of my favorite people in the world – Emily Freeman, her sister Myquillyn Smith (The Nester) and their dad talk about a variety of things.
  • The Phil Vischer Podcast – The founder of Veggie Tales talks with a few other people about religion and current events.
  • Relevant Podcast – from the Relevant Magazine, this is a super funny, irreverent podcast with a bunch of guys (and some girls including Shauna Niequist) who crack me up.
  • That Sounds Fun with Annie Downs – Annie is a writer from Nashville who is really lighthearted and fun. There aren’t many episodes, but she interviews people like Ted Dekker and other Christian writers.
  • Offcamera – Interviews with tv and movie stars. I especially liked the episodes with Matt Damon and Ed Helms. There is some language on this one.
  • Here’s the Thing with Alec Baldwin – There are a few good episodes, especially the interviews with Jerry Seinfeld and Jimmy Fallon. I think there may be some language as well.
  • Around the Table – I just started listening to this one because of the interview with Kendra from The Lazy Sisters podcast.
  • TEDTalks – I also listen to these depending on my interest in the topics discussed.
