I first discovered my love of painting when I started painting second-hand furniture for our house about seven years ago. Some of my favorite makeovers include this coffee table and this armoire,  Lately, I haven’t had much time to paint furniture, BUT I felt the itch a few weeks ago and stopped in at Goodwill to see what I could find. I scored this old, beat-up but sturdy dresser that would fit perfectly in Avery’s bedroom.

Here is the “before” picture…

DRESSER BEFORE COLLAGE

After a coat of primer and several coats of white paint, here is what it looks like now…

After I finished painting it, I sanded the edges to distress it a bit. I also just spray painted the existing knobs and put them back on. There was one missing, so I put two glass knobs that I already had on hand on the top drawer. I might put glass knobs on all the drawers eventually.

Since I can’t leave well enough alone, I decide to do some redecorating in Avery’s room…

Next up for a makeover is the master bedroom! We are getting a new mattress and making a headboard, so I’ve got lots of ideas swirling around in my head.  Most fun thing ever.
