I haven’t shown pictures of Jack’s room for a while, and I made a few changes, so I thought I’d give you a little peek.
I gave his room a makeover when I was about 5 or 6 months pregnant with Violet. It was time for him to have a big-boy room, and I had a great time working on it. I still love the checkerboard pattern that I painted on the floor, although it was a painstakingly annoying process! Especially considering my pregnant belly and all the bending-over that was involved. But as you know, a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do to make a room look cute!

As you can see, I went with a nautical theme for the room. I made the boat that’s hanging above the headboard out of branches, scraps of dropcloth, and twine. Really easy and cheap art for the wall.
Pretty much everything in the room was second-hand (the bed, dresser, night stand) or made by us, so the project was really inexpensive.

I painted the little wall where the closet is with chalkboard paint and the kids love using it. This is Jack’s little play corner, although he doesn’t play in his room much. It’s all the way upstairs and too far away from the action of the rest of the family.

So there’s a little peek into one corner of our house. I love being nosy and checking out other people’s homes (confession: I’m pretty much obsessed with it), and I’m sure I’m not alone!
Happy Wednesday friends! It’s MAY!!! Summer is just around the corner! I can smell it when I walk outside my door. Aaaaahhh.
